Sherry Dixon began skiing as a way to stay in shape for running. Racing became her passion in 1987 with
her participation in the Empire State Games. Since then she has competed internationally with her most recent trip to Sweden. She currently holds 8
one World medal and hopes to win many more. Teaching lessons allows Sherry to share her love of cross country skiing. It has enriched her life and her well-being. She has been an instructor at Lapland Lake since the 2002-2003 winter season and is a retired teacher.
