is entering his 30th year with the US Department of
Agriculture as a District Conservationist with the Natural Resources Conservation Service. He enjoys spending time with his wife
Cheryl, his three adult children and Buddy the Beagle. He began patrolling at Lapland Lake during the 2001-02 winter season
and this year has accepted the duties as patrol director. He also patrols at Royal Mountain on weeknights. His favorite trail at Lapland Lake is Era Polku after a fresh snowfall, but when he feels the need for speed he loves the first hill on Karhu Polku. When the snow isn’t flying, Tom
is also a long time member of the Saratoga Biathlon Club.
When the snow isn't flying, Tom enjoys hiking, cycling, running, home-brewing, woodworking, canoeing, kayaking, photography,
and, in his spare time, is building a log home.
