Victor
Izzo has been on skis since he was six years old. His first
years on skis were spent on the Alpine slopes of the Northeast
where he raced GS for the Kingston Trailsweepers and taught
beginning ski lessons for Highmount Ski Area. He converted to
Nordic Skiing after growing frustrated with long lift lines and
cumbersome, bulky Alpine equipment. After a number of years of
successful Nordic racing he established the Wallkill High School
Nordic Ski Team and coached his team to a number of league
championships as well as coaching many beginning skiers to
qualifying for New York State, Northeast, and Junior Olympic
Championships. He is most happy to be a part of the outstanding
Lapland Lake Instructional staff where he has been a staff
member since 2008-09. Additionally, he and his wife Jeri are
pleased that they now can call Lapland Lake home.
