There's no better place to learn the sport of
cross country skiing than here at Lapland Lake! Our PSIA Ski School offers
quality instruction to everyone from the very first-timer to racers seeking to
perfect technique. Olavi and Ann have spent years assembling what we feel
is one of the best group of professional cross country ski instructors around,
and we are fortunate to have
them with us! Our 12 instructors are patient, dedicated, excellent communicators and all
'round nice folks!
Oh, and they're superb skiers, too! They'll have you on your way in no
time at all!
All lesson participants* receive the

A
Skier Achievement Card that your instructor will use at the end of the lesson to
provide individual feedback regarding skills you have accomplished and which
skills are yet to be mastered. By displaying the Skier Achievement Card at our Tuulen
Tupa Grill, you will receive one free hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Make Lapland Lake your winter
place to be! Four lessons: three group lessons followed by one private
lesson,
including full-day facility use pass and xc ski rentals each of the four days.
Choose from a variety of group lessons: Stride and Glide Levels 1 & 2, Hills &
Skills, and Beginner Skate Skiing. Superb xc ski instruction from members of our PSIA-certified Ski School.
At the end of your fourth lesson, we'll throw in a Lapland Lake Season's Pass for the
remainder of the 2007-08 winter season. You can't beat this deal with a
stick (or a ski pole)! P.S. You may take your first lesson with us and
then, if you decide to purchase a "Take Four" program, we will credit the amount
you spent on facility use, ski rentals and lesson that day.
Stride & Glide Levels 1 & 2
You'll be pleased to learn how
simple and fun cross country skiing can be! Proper classic technique will
be addressed including falling and getting back up, stride-and-glide, balance,
weight transfer, proper pole positioning and up and downhill maneuvers.
Level 1 is appropriate for first-timers. Level 2 is geared toward the
skier who has completed Level 1, has since skied 3 - 4 times, and is able to
successfully ski on the beginner level Lake Trail. Level 1 is offered Saturdays, Sundays,
holidays twice daily from 11:00am-Noon & from 1:00-2:00pm; non-holiday midweek at 11:00am.
Level 2 is offered Saturdays, Sundays, holidays from 2 - 3pm. Full hour
$17/person - facility use fee additional. Save

$27/junior (ages 12-15) includes full day facility use pass with rental equipment & hour-long lesson. Children accepted from age 12.
Hills
& Skills
Geared to skiers who have grasped fundamental skills but need practical approaches to down hills and up hills
and refinement of essential classic techniques. Appropriate for skiers
wishing to improve overall technique, needing annual refreshers or who may have
been away from the sport for a period of time. Participants should be able
to ski all green (beginner) and some blue (intermediate) trails and have had
some instruction within the past three years. Full hour, $17/person -
facility use fee additional. Saturdays, Sundays, holidays from
2:00-3:00pm. Save $10.00 with our "Ski Like a Finn Lesson Package": $40/adult; $27/junior (ages 12-15) includes full day facility use pass with classic rental equipment and hour-long lesson.
Children accepted from age 12 (exceptions made for talented junior skiers).
Beginner Skate Skiing Lesson
Fast and fun! Lapland
Lake's instructors are always pleased to introduce skiers to this exciting cross country skiing technique. We'll show you the basics of skate skiing and help you understand the dynamics of propulsion, weight transfer, timing and pole usage. Note: skate skiing equipment is necessary;
participants should have some prior experience with
classic skiing including snowplow technique or have had alpine experience. $17/person; facility use fee additional.
From 1:00-2:00pm Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and by appointment non-holiday midweek.
Save $10.00 with our "Ski Like a Finn Lesson Package": $43/adult;
$30/junior (ages 12 -15) includes full day facility use pass with full day rental equipment and one-hour lesson.
Or, skate skis are available to rent for the one-hour lesson only for a reduced
$10 rental fee (lesson and facility use pass additional).
Talvi Club (aka Parent Ski Escape!)
One-and-one-half hours
of instruction specifically geared to children ages 5 -11.
Ski games and skills improvement for youngsters in our whimsical children's ski
area & hot chocolate break with instructor. $17/child; facility use fee
additional. Two sessions from 10:30-noon and 1-2:30 Saturdays, Sundays, holidays.

Poro Club
(advanced)
One-and-one-half hours
of instruction for better junior skiers and Talvi Club graduates through age 11. Participants, under the supervision of Lapland Lake's professional instructors, ski groomed trails appropriate to participants' abilities and receive tips on refining technique. Hot chocolate break included. $17/child; facility use fee additional. One session from 10:30-noon Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Private Lessons
Offered for all levels of classic and skate skiing to children, novices and to more advanced skiers seeking to improve technique. Available daily. Full hour $40;
each additional person $20. Facility use fee and rentals additional.
