Saturday 1/19:  One inch fresh powder yesterday afternoon/evening on top of a nice packed powder base, trails will be snowcat groomed corduroy with set tracks.   We have approximately 34K of XC trail open – all trails except Tunturi, the second and third upper Karhu loops, and the Leilan Latu downhill.  Today will be very good for both skate and classic.  Snowshoeing trails open.  One junior tubing hill open.

Trails open at 9 AM today, lessons and food service are available.  A few tickets are still available for our horse drawn sleigh rides today (11AM – 2PM).

Weekend Weather Outlook:  The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area for 4:00 PM Saturday to 4:00 PM Sunday.  We are expecting significant snow Saturday night through Sunday morning followed by cold temperatures on Monday.   Our current plans are:  We expect Saturday to be a normal weekend day (opening at 9 AM) with great skiing and hope to see many of you.  Our Saturday horse drawn sleigh ride is on, but will be starting earlier and ending by 2:30 to minimize travel issues for our guests and the horse team.  The moonlight snowshoe tour scheduled for Saturday night is cancelled; people signed up have the choice of rescheduling to another available tour date or receiving a refund.  Sunday and Monday we expect to open for day use at 10 AM rather than the normal holiday opening time of 9 AM.  Availability of food service and lessons/programs on Sunday and Monday will depend on the ability of our staff to travel safely, and also outdoor temperatures on Monday.

Note: we are hosting a high school race on January 25, West Side trails will close to the public at 1:30 on January 25.
