The program is led by Lapland Lake’s PSIA-certified instructors Sherry Dixon and Susan Henriksson. Ski Orienteering Race. Come join the fun! In Ski Orienteering participants navigate through a series of points on a prearranged cross country ski course and are timed as individuals or as group members.  You can do this as a NYSSRA Championship qualifier or on an abbreviated non-competitive 2-3km course appropriate for juniors and adult first-timers. All are welcome!  The $20.00 entry fee includes full day facility use pass and detailed color course map. Register between 11 am and 1 PM. Sponsored by Empire Orienteering Club. Thursday, December 25 - Christmas Day Fun at Lapland! Visit with our (weary?) reindeer! Ski & snowshoe trails, junior tubing hills, ice-skating, Finnish Line Ski Shop, warming lodge, rental & retail shops open 11am-4:30pm. Food service and lessons are unavailable today (elves Ann, Olavi and daughter Leila will be on hand to greet you, but our staff is given the day off to spend with their families).

Friday, December 26 - Sunday, January 4 - Full weekend lesson schedule and Napa Kiikku run daily throughout the holiday period! Trails open daily 9am - 4:30pm.

Friday, December 26 - Come up and wish Olavi a Happy Birthday! Come to the "Finnish Line" Lodge at 2pm for a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday to Olavi!" All singers will receive a complimentary slice of delicious birthday cake!

Wednesday, December 31 - New Year's Eve Celebration! We will provide the makings for s'mores along with champagne and ginger ale to toast the New Year (on Finnish time...with a little literary license)!

- Winter Trails Day from 1 – 4:30pm. FREE to first-timers!
Complimentary afternoon facility use, beginner x-c ski lesson for adults and children from age 5 & ski rentals for first-time participants. Pre-registration is required for first-timers participating in Winter Trails Day. Other resort activities include snowshoeing, tubing on our junior hills, ice-skating on our pond and visiting with our resident reindeer. Our spacious two-story warming lodge with its toasty wood stove is the perfect place to relax and visit with other outdoor enthusiasts. The resort’s Tuulen Tupa Grill, overlooking the pond, serves Finnish specialties, homemade soups, vegetarian and beef chili, quiche, wraps, burgers, quesadillas and delicious fresh baked goods. Enjoy trekking alongside brooks, streams & near scenic Woods Lake, stopping along the way to give a hearty hello to Viima, Lapland Lake's resident reindeer! Each participant will receive an animal tracking guide to help identify the many animal tracks you may see along the way. $23.00 package includes rental snowshoes & poles, guided tour, animal tracking guide & hot beverage. Facility use pass is additional. Retain your snowshoe rentals to use for the balance of the day or exchange for another set of rental gear to enjoy another activity (surcharge may apply). Discounted facility use fee of only $20 to those 65+ daily. Meet new friends who share your enthusiasm for  x-c skiing and snowshoeing! Every non-holiday Thursday through March 26.

Saturday, March 21 - Saturdays are Finn-tastic at Lapland Lake! Delight in a perfect day of skiing, snowshoeing, tubing and ice-skating. Linger longer for a wonderful Saturday evening meal including Finnish dinner specialties. Reservations are advised and appreciated; dinner is served beginning at 5:00pm.
