Winter XC Ski & Events Calendar

In Ski Orienteering participants navigate through a series of points on a prearranged cross country ski course and are timed as individuals or as group members. All are welcome! The $24.00 event entry fee includes full day facility use pass and detailed color course map. Register between 10 am and noon day of event (Saturday December 15, 2018). Sponsored by Empire Orienteering Club.

Enjoy a winter wonderland as you travel by horse drawn sleigh along a scenic, private road, passing beautiful Woods Lake midway. Cost for the approximate 30 minute adventure is $25 ages 15 and up, $15 ages 4-14, under 4 years old free. Discount available with same day facility use pass purchase. A special program for women, taught by women. From 9:30am – 2:30pm beginner and intermediate level female skiers age 18+, grouped by ability, will receive instruction in classic (Jan 12 and Feb 9) or skate (March 9) technique. Enjoy lunch with an equipment & clothing discussion, participate in a social group ski and enjoy a group skills wrap-up at the end of the day. The program is led by Lapland Lake’s PSIA-certified instructors. Cost for the five-hour program is $60 which includes facility use pass, lunch and equipment discount coupon. Cost of rental equipment, if needed, is additional.

These popular, guided tours start out at with a bowl of chili and a side of cornbread at our Kuuma Feeding Station on the 2nd floor of the main lodge building. Then strap on your snowshoes (also available for rent) and head out with our guides on a memorable moonlight or starlight tour, stopping at a lakeside campfire for a snack and hot beverage. 5:45pm to approx. 9pm. Tour leaves the lodge building at 6:30pm. Please arrive a few minutes early if renting snowshoes.
Cost for the tour is $39.00 ($5.00 extra if renting snowshoes). Ages 18+, please. Space is limited; reservations are a must! Headlamps are strongly recommended.
