Tervetuloa! Greetings from Lapland Lake!
Tonight snow is expected with a wintry
mix on Monday. Accumulations of 1 -
3+ inches are expected tonight with another 1 - 3"
tomorrow. Quite cold
temperatures are expected to remain in place for the balance
of the week. Snow showers are possible Tuesday night,
Wednesday, Wednesday night and Thursday. A very nice early
season base-building forecast!
Please check this
report regularly for updates. Better still, sign up
for our Snow Condition Reports (in box above next to

You may, of course, opt out at any time.
For those interested in lodging with us in the near future,
the ice is solid on the pond for ice-skating and on the lake
which is frozen smooth as glass
for ice-skating and kick-sledding. With an inch of snow, the
lake also will be open for skate skiing end-to-end. Have a group? Kyykka
on the lake is a blast! These activities will be open to day
use visitors once we re-open for skiing (hopefully this

have just a handful of
positions for this winter. Please contact Ann if interested.
Two new staff members have joined the Lapland Lake family on
a year round basis.
Pat Ferri, whom many of you may recognize as one of our
regular skiers, has been helping out with carpentry and building
maintenance projects during the spring, summer and fall months.
He will now magically
morph into Olavi's Nordic Assistant and our Kids' instructor for the winter months.
You will be sure to see Pat if you purchase gear, rent
equipment, need a repair or just want to chat a bit. He will
be assisting with grooming this winter
as well. His sense of humor and consistently upbeat
personality will have you smiling every moment!
Humphrey joined the staff this spring as Ann's
Administrative Assistant. If you are a lodging guest. Mike
is the person you are most apt to meet at check-in. But he
will be found anywhere and everywhere in the winter months:
ski rentals, retail shop, guiding a snowshoe tour, taking
Kiva and Balto, Ann and Olavi's pups, for a
walk - you get the picture! Mike is an avid hiker and
fisherman who also enjoys a bit of cross country skiing, so
he is the go-to guy for those wishing to explore Adirondack
trails and waterways. Keep an ear out. Mike is on the quiet
side, but his very dry sense of humor will have you smiling!
Most seasonal staff is returning, so you will see familiar,
smiling faces this winter. Rachel returns as our Ski Shop
cashier, Mike as our Tuulen Tupa chef along with Zack, our
dishwasher and Michele our Tuulen cashier. John joins us
this season as our ticket cashier with a smile. All of our
Ski Patrollers have returned and it looks as though we may
add one to two to that department, and nearly all of our
instructors are returning for another winter of fun on snow!
Amy, Pat and Paige continue in housekeeping, and our
bookkeeper Pat enters her third year. Mary, our former Kuuma
Tupa cashier, is assisting with administrative duties this
season. Phil, our all round head of maintenance, remains
here year round.
Our massage therapist, Michele, is
available by appointment. Her professional massage has been
enjoyed by countless customers for many, many years.
Of course, Ann and Olavi are here to
welcome you to our touch of Finland in the Adirondacks!
