Lapland Lake Winter Ski Report

Good to excellent conditions & 100% operation! 35km of trails are beautifully snowcat groomed with trackset and skating lanes. Woods Lake is open for skiing but is ungroomed. Surface is a power-tilled mixture of loose granular & corn snow. Base depth averages 16" - 22", with 26" - 32" in our woods. Skate skiing on Woods Lake early in the day is great fun!

Today is cloudy, some peeks of sun, with a high of 47. Friday and Saturday are expected to be cloudy, the chance of sprinkles or an occasional shower but mostly dry, with a high of 49 Friday and of 45 Saturday. Please check back for weather updates.

Used rental gear is on sale with classic ski sets from $170 for adults and from $110 for juniors (skis, boots, poles & bindings). Used skate ski gear is also on sale - price varies with choice of boots, skis & poles.

Today is Soup-er Seniors Day with a free cup of hot soup for skiers and snowshoers ages 65+.

Calling all women! Join us this Saturday, March 13 for Lapland Ladies Love to Ski! Five-hour skate ski program for beginner and intermediate level skiers. $35 includes facility use pass, instruction, lunch, afternoon social ski & group wrap-up with hot beverage. Join us for a Finn-tastic Saturday! Musician Dan Lynaugh will be here to entertain us Saturday in the Finnish Line Lodge from 4 - 6:30pm. Entertainment is complimentary. Wine, beer, glogg (hot mulled wine), juice, soda, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and light appetizers will be available for purchase.

If you like, stroll up to the Tuulen Tupa for our $15 Dinner Special ($10 for children ages 10 and under). This week's menu includes Vegetarian Tortilla Soup, Ginger Sauteed Beef Tips & Vegetables over Brown Rice OR Ginger Sauteed Vegetables over Brown Rice, Peach Bread Pudding a la mode and Coffee. If you prefer, you may opt to order off our regular Tuulen Tupa Menu.. Dinner is served Saturdays from 5 - 7pm; dinner reservations are advised and appreciated.

Our new 2010 Prinoth Husky Snowcat is a powerful, state-of-the-art groomer with amazing capabilities. The new Cat, combined with Olavi's more than 30 years' experience grooming Lapland Lake's trail system, is certain to provide you with a superior skiing experience. Come up and see for yourself what this impressive new beast can do!

Our 12km dedicated snowshoe trail system & junior tubing hills are open daily. Our reindeer, Talvi & Viima, are waiting for you! All activities are included in the price of your facility use pass. Bring along your own gear or rent from us. Ice-skating is unavailable.

Lessons are offered daily. Our Tuulen Tupa Grill is open for lunch daily, seated dinner service is available each Saturday, and take-out dinner menu is available to lodging guests nightly.

Escape to the Southern Adirondacks for an overnight stay! Our lodging guests enjoy complimentary use of ski and snowshoe trails, junior tubing hills and our ice-skating pond along with illuminated facilities including night skiing on Lake Trail, tubing and ice-skating. Availability Midweek (Sunday through Thursday nights):

Low midweek lodging rates apply Sunday through Thursday nights (non-holiday). We have availability most nights for the balance of the season. Lodge in a private tupa (housekeeping cottage) like this for only $170/night or in a private room in our Lapin Tupa farmhouse for only $160/night (rates cover the first two guests). In our tupas, beginning with the third guest, each additional adult is $75/night and each additional child ages 6-17 is $50/night. Children under 6 stay free of charge.
