A total of 45km of trails are open. 33km are groomed,
and groomed, and groomed
with track set and skating lanes. Surface varies from the
east side (beginner & intermediate trails) where there is loose and frozen granular
to the west side (intermediate and expert terrain) where
there is nice power-tilled soft granular snow. There are
occasional thin spots, and conditions are very fast and very good for skate skiing. Our compacted base is
3 -
7"
with up to a foot of snow, 10 - 12", in our woods.12km of trails are open and
dedicated for snowshoeing.

are available daily for skiers of all abilities (what a
fabulous time to learn skate skiing - group lesson today at 10am)! Skiing, snowshoeing, tubing
on both of our children's hills (non-lift operated),
ice-skating, kicksledding and visiting with our

Forecast:
Today is a lovely day for outdoor activities with
sunshine and a high of 31. Monday is expected to be sunny
with a high of 42. The long range forecast has uncertainty
in it based on the tracks of weather systems, but at least
snow is appearing in print frequently: a slight chance of
snow showers Monday night and Tuesday; a chance of light
snow Wednesday night into Thursday; a chance of snow showers
or perhaps accumulating snow Friday into Saturday.
From Accuweather's Henry Margusity Friday, 2/3: "The
longer range looks stormy with normal cold to me. I like the
fact that the GFS is now showing at least three storms with
next weekend being the start of the fun. With the high over
Ontario, some storm is going to come up out of the Gulf of
Mexico and try to phase along the East coast. Cold air will
be plentiful for what could be a large area of snow in the
East. The NAO is trying to go negative and if we can get the
blocking, that will just ice the cake in regards to the end
run of winter and snowstorms for the snow lovers. I will
say, when you see the cold and snow in Europe and Japan,
it's usually just a matter of time before the eastern U.S.
gets crushed. Come on, Big Daddy(s)! I just think it's a
wild 4-6 weeks of weather as we close out winter."
Lunch and snack service is available daily at our
Tuulen Tupa Grill with plenty of options
prepared by Chef Mike, including warming
homemade soups, hearty homemade chili, daily quiche
specials, Finnish specialties, sandwiches, Angus beef
burgers, quesadillas, a variety of hot and cold beverages
along with beer, wine and glogg (hot mulled wine). Catered
breakfast and dinner service is available to our lodging
guests.
The "Finnish Line" Lodge and Ski Shop is open daily. Olavi
has a wonderful inventory of ski equipment with
select gear up to 20% off. Who better to offer
advice on your equipment selection than Olavi, former
Olympian and resort operator.
