Spring is a breath of fresh air here at Lapland Lake! While we love ourwinter activities, we welcome the sounds of birds chirping and streams filling with spring melt water, letting us know warmer weather is on the horizon. Our private sandy beach on 70-acre Woods Lake is a peaceful, stunningly beautiful spot to pull up an Adirondack chair and watch nature at its best! Motors are prohibited on this pristine lake, and the shoreline – virtually undeveloped and protected by law – is a peaceful locale for loons, beavers, ducks, blue heron, and other wildlife.  Guests enjoy a variety of activities including: birding, canoeing, hiking and biking.

Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center near Northville NY, in the Town of Benson, offers recreation and relaxation throughout the entire year, but there is something special about spring at Lapland Lake. With the snow gone and the flowers blooming, you can interact with the environment on a calmer level – appreciating the forest for the trees, following the cool mountain streams, and watching for wildlife.

Spring is also the season for paddlesports! Lapland Lake offers convenient shoreline access to Woods Lake.  While the lake water in spring may still be a little too chilly for swimming, we offer the complimentary use of kayaks, canoes, row boats, and paddle boat. Bring your own fishing gear down to the lake and try your luck with the smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, perch, pickerel and bullhead with brook trout in our streams! Kids can enjoy the lakeside swingset and an abundance of complimentary sand toys. Woods Lake is an enjoyable walk or bike ride from the tupas and a gravel pathway allows for a nice stroll through Lapland Lake’s woodlands.

Hiking enthusiasts will enjoy our wildlife-abundant 30+ miles of trails, 3-mile nature trail and the adjoining state protected forestlands! The new Woods Lake section of the famed 133+ mile Northville-Placid Trail is just minutes from our door.  This historic trail connects the southern Adirondack foothills and the picturesque Adirondack High Peaks region to the north for avid hikers and campers.

A cool early spring night or warm late spring night at Lapland Lake NY means a canoe ride at sunset followed by a glass of wine on the screened porch of your private tupa (Adirondack cottage).  If there is still a chill to the night air, light a fire in your woodstove with complimentary wood and supplies!

Spring at Lapland Lake promises a vacation of fond memories and constant opportunities to revel in Mother Nature’s beauty. The perfect setting for family fun or a romantic getaway, you can choose to fill your days with outdoor activities or quiet relaxation.

Other area attractions for those visiting Lapland Lake in the spring include: Great Sacandaga Lake (for visitors wishing to bring their power boats); Adirondack Animal Land for those interested in an African Safari ride; or ride the Hudson River rapids with a guided raft tour! Excellent restaurants, some with lakeside dining, are just 20 or 30 minutes away, along with opportunities for golfing, horseback riding, and tours of a cider mill or diamond mine!

Ask our friendly staff about spring events and area attractions when booking your reservation and come experience the beauty of the Adirondacks and warm Finnish hospitality at Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center!
