Letter from Paul and Kathy
Dear Friends,
A decade ago, we learned that our favorite vacation resort was for sale. Life should be an adventure, and in December 2014 we purchased Lapland Lake.
Operating Lapland Lake has been a bit more challenging, and much more rewarding, than we expected. We have learned new skills and made new friends. Our favorite part is the strong and consistent support we get from our customers, staff, volunteers, neighbors, and local community. We appreciate you all.
Lapland Lake is a special place. We want that to continue beyond our time at the helm. Knowing the transition process may take some time, we have decided to start that process now. We have listed the resort for sale with an experienced business broker, Rick Roberts of Inglenook Realty. His contact information, and a link to the listing, is at the bottom of this letter.
Our hope is to find new owners who will operate Lapland Lake with passion and energy, making improvements while preserving the character that makes Lapland Lake a special place for so many. If this might be you, Rick Roberts can help you understand the financial aspects of ownership. We are willing to talk directly with potential new owners about the skills and responsibilities involved.
We are not planning to leave the area. We hope to stay right here, with a bit more time to enjoy the ski trails in winter and the lake in the summer. We are available to work with new owners during a transition, and if requested might continue with some responsibilities for a longer time.
Don’t worry. We still have the energy and every intention to operate Lapland Lake for several more seasons if that is what the future holds. But we are also ready and willing to listen to proposals for a transition.
