Winter 2024-25 Events at Lapland Lake

 

December 7 – 8 Open House Sale 

Saturday and Sunday December 7-8, 10AM – 4:00PM.  Equipment sale with 30% cash discount on all regular priced skis, boots, poles, bindings, and snowshoes (27% discount with credit card payment).  No further discounts.  Higher discounts on select items.  Discounted ski trail passes or free trail hiking (depending on snow conditions).  Seasonal rental equipment available.

December 14 – 10K Freestyle Race 

Start your racing season with our 10K Freestyle Race.  Start time 10:00AM on Saturday December 14.  Kids race at 11:30AM.  This is an early season race, so expect early season trail conditions and check for pre-race updates.

January 5 – 26 Youth Skate Ski Clinic 

A four week skate ski clinic for youth aged 8 – 14.  All ability levels welcome – the clinic will introduce beginners to the technique and also help those with more experience improve and develop their skills.  Conditions permitting, the clinic will include four sessions on Sundays 12:45 – 2:15 (January 5, 12, 19, 26).  Registration fee of $50 includes clinic sessions and trail pass for clinic days; equipment rental if needed must be purchased separately.  To register, download form and mail with payment.

High School Races 

We are scheduled to host two Section 2 high school races this winter: the Mayfield Invitational on Thursday January 9 and the Johnstown-Guilderland Invitational on Thursday January 16.  The practice field area and west side trails will close to the public at 1:00 on these days.  Date changes are possible based on snow and travel conditions.  Come watch and cheer the future of our sport!

Ladies Ski Clinic at Lapland Lake 

Classic Technique January 25, Skate Technique February 8

Morning sessions begins at 9:30am; wrap up ends at 3:30pm

A special cross country ski program for women, taught by women. Beginner and intermediate level female skiers age 18+, grouped by ability, will receive instruction in classic (January 25 clinic) or skate (February 8 clinic) technique in the morning. After a lunch break (participants are welcome to either bring their own lunch or purchase) the clinic will meet up for a social group ski in the afternoon, and enjoy a group skills wrap-up and snack at the end of the day. The program is led by Lapland Lake’s PSIA-certified instructors. Cost for the program  includes facility use pass.

February 2 Family Sunday
