This production is the story about an aggressive stage mother. Join Rose, June and Louise in their trip across the United States during the 1920s, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born. Jule Styne's music and Stephen Sondheim's lyrics include "Let Me Entertain You", "Some People", "You'll Never Get Away from Me". "If Momma Was Married", "All I Need is the Girl", and "Everything's Coming up Roses", and many more familiar songs. The Caroga Historical Museum presents Swing Docs at Adirondack Paradise, St. Hwy. 29A & 10, in Pine Lake from 8 to 11 pm.  This band of professionals from Albany Medical Center will present an evening of swing, big band and rock selections.  This program received support from Fulton-Montgomery Arts Grants, which is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and is administered by Saratoga Arts.  Refreshments will be available for purchase. For more information, contact the museum at the number above. "Sir William Johnson's Death Diplomacy" Professor of History and Director of the Humanities Institute at SUNY Buffalo and author of Death in the New World: Cross Culture Encounters, 1492-1800, Erik R. Seeman will discuss how Sir William Johnson used Iroquois condolence rituals and mortuary practices to showcase his understanding of his allies' culture, cement alliances, and communicate across culture boundaries during the Seven Years War. The Caroga Historical Museum welcomes artist Darla Oathout. A reception will be held from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm with refreshments. During the reception, there will be a 20 minute slide presentation set to music of "A Photographer's Journey". The August featured exhibit of her photography will run from August 7th through August 31st.
