What a great way to celebrate with mom for Mother's day!  Come join The Fulmont Rep Theatre Company at the Glove Performing Arts Center as they present Robert Harling's theater classic Steel Magnolias.  This dinner theater production will offer a unique opportunity to thank Mom for all she has done over the years.  Price includes a full buffet dinner catered by The Plaza Italian Bistro and the show, plus many Mother's Day surprises!  Reservations are required to ensure seating availability. Make your reservations by calling The Glove at 773-8255 ext. 25. $47.50 per Couple, $25.00 for individuals, Mom gets in for just $20.00 with two paid reservations.

2ND ANNUAL JOHNSON JOG, Johnson Hall State Historic Site, Johnstown, (518) 762-4459, www.friendsofjohnsonhall.org 

The Friends of Johnson Hall organization is holding the 2nd Annual Johnson Jog on May 18th, 2013 at 9 am at the Sir William Johnson Hall.  The event consists of a 5 K run/walk through Johnstown with re-enactors stationed at historic sites along the route. This is a fundraising event that benefits programs and improvements at Johnson Hall Historic Site. Led by chanteuse extraordinaire Annie Rosen, Annie and the Hedonists go back to those roots with skillfully arranged covers of timeless songs from many genres. No folk outfit around can match them." REID HILL FISH AND GAME'S 26TH ANNUAL KIDS FISHING DERBY, Perthshire Restaurant,112 Perthshire Road, Amsterdam, (518) 843-3451, famousray@hotmail.com

This is an event that Reid Hill Fish and Game is very proud to present each year to introduce children to fishing. It is open to kids from ages 4-15; children must be accompanied by an adult. The Fish and Game Club stocks Perthshire pond with trout that the kids catch. Everything on this day is FREE. It doesn't cost the kids anything to fish or to receive prizes, food, drinks and trophies. The food and drinks are for all people attending. We have many people donating their time to make this a great event; we hope to see you there. We also have a Chinese auction to help defray some of the cost. Businesses in and around our area donate items and gift certificates to make this event as great as it is. CARMINA BURANA PRESENTED BY MOHAWK VALLEY CHORUS, Amsterdam High School, Saratoga Avenue, Amsterdam, (518) 725-3218, www.mohawkvalleychorus.org

Mohawk Valley Chorus presents Carmina Burana. Soloist:  Michael Lotano, Eric Christopher Perry and Christina Pizzino-Catalano Additonal Chorus: Clifton Park Community Chorus, MVC Yough Chorale, and Schenectady High Singers. The Carl Orff's arrangement is a collection of 13th century poems and songs from vagrant monks and wandering scholars.  It depicts a musical parable of life in constant change. The chorus and accompanist will be directed by David M. Rossi.  Accompanist will be Alfred V. Fedak and Dian Dippold, along with six guest percussionist. Tickets are $12 ~ general admission, $9 ~ senior citizens and students, Free ~ 12 and under.  Doors open 1/2 hour prior performance. Tickets can be purchased at the event or from Mohawk Valley Chorus and Clifton Park Community Chorus members.
