I started skiing at Silver Bells in
Wells in the 1960's using very long surplus Army skis painted
black. I am retired from teaching teenagers some biology,
geology, meteorology, and astronomy. Each morning before school
I would ski a loop using a once-a-year blue waxed pair of Head
wooded skies. I would repeat the ski loop often in the dark
after school. I still have those skis and like them. My three
children have grown and can out-ski me now. I still often ski
the Lapland trails with my wife. Her favorite trail is Sisu -
Determination. I patrol at Lapland and Oak Mountain. I enjoy
tennis and swimming and hope to learn to telemark turn. Hope to
have an opportunity to talk with you on the trails!
