Roy Keats

Roy spent the first 9 years in Washington D.C. where he
experienced snow only as a VERY occasional joy. When he moved to
upstate New York, he thought he had gone to Snow Heaven, and has
been making up for having severe snow deprivation as a young
child ever since. Roy has been skiing since high school. He
started with downhill. He shifted to cross country skiing after
about 10 years of downhill. Long lift lines, high lift prices
and a family helped in the conversion. But he still enjoys great
down hills at all cross country areas. Roy got into cross
country ski racing when his kids began racing in high school. He
enjoys bringing his love of the sport to new skiers by passing
on his passion for snow. He has been instructing since the
2007-2008 season.
