Initially, I was concerned about the “weather forecast” being too cold and windy, but a call to Ann gave me the push I needed to brave the cold. The instructors that you have running the program were FANTASTIC, PATIENT and FUN…and I will make sure to look forward for this program year after year. It grounds have plenty of space around and it is within close reach in various season to what we love about the Adirondacks: trails to hike, roads to bike, a GREAT network of groomed nordic ski trails for all skill levels with lessons, too. Woods Lake, in season, to ski, to swim, to canoe or just lollygag with a book. At the center of it is a warm and wonderful tupa (Finnish for cabin) that is cozy, well-appointed and warmed with the help of a wood-stove. The owners, Olavi and Ann, are on top of what it takes to have the Lapland Lake just be what it is, a simple yet wonderful retreat in the woods.”
